The October and November ASAB Meeting dates were removed from their calendar. The disappearing dates will be one thing we’re speaking out about. The two Budget Public Hearing Meetings 9/10/26 & 9/24/26 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm are our last attempt to influence the 2027 Budget as it applies to Manatee County Animal Welfare. We would love to have volunteers, their friends, family members and even neighbors come to this meeting so the commissioners know we are a large and engaged community. No one needs to speak unless they want to but having many people there will say all it all. If possible please wear a black top/shirt or the black Manatee Shelter Watch T-Shirts if you have one. Join us Saturday the 19th as we prepare for two very important upcoming meetings. We will be preparing for the Tuesday September 22nd Regular Board of County Commissioners Meeting & the Thursday September 24th Budget Public Hearing meeting. This last Budget Public Hearing Meeting from 5:30pm to 7:30pm is our last attempt to influence the 2027 Budget as it applies to Manatee County Animal Welfare.

We would love to have volunteers come to these meetings, for whatever portion of the day they can, wearing the black Manatee Shelter Watch T-Shirts so they know we’re still paying attention even when the Bishop Trailer Kennels aren’t on the Agenda.
Once the meeting Agenda is available, we will analyze it and provide talking points to read or email into the public record. These will be available at the 9/19/26 Community Meeting and if time allows, also posted on the Calls to Action page on the website.
